Utilizing Emergent 3D's groundbreaking 3D concrete printing technology, the partners aim to rapidly construct dozens of quality residences at nearly half the cost and time of traditional building methods.
Emergent 3D's specialized 3D printers can print the overall structure layer-by-layer using concrete to build up the home. This disruptive application of 3D printing allows for faster, cheaper, and more resilient housing. Watson 3D and Pocket Neighborhood Communities will utilize Emergent 3D's 3D printing services to erect customized, sustainable housing clusters to serve low-income families, seniors, and other groups needing stable, affordable housing in the Burlington area.
The printed pocket neighborhoods will provide quality 3D-printed housing aligned with the City of Burlington's Comprehensive Plan goals for accessible, affordable, and sustainable housing. The energy-efficient residences and community-focused layout meet the Plan's vision for transit-oriented development and environmental stewardship. Offsite vocational training, financial planning courses, and other wraparound services empower residents, fitting with the Plan's emphasis on human services and resident health.
